A platform that takes payments for training, built in five days
The problem
The seven courses were sold on paper. An interested visitor filled in a contact form, waited for a reply, and everything else happened by phone and from memory. No seat was held, no payment was traced, and nothing prevented twelve people being enrolled into a room for ten.
What was done
A complete database and a four-step enrolment funnel, with a seat held for thirty minutes, payment declaration, manual validation from a back office, automatic emails and certificates publicly verifiable by code. The catalogue injects itself into the existing course pages without rewriting their content, which preserves the search rankings already earned.
The technical guarantee
Overbooking is impossible, not merely unlikely: an exclusive lock at reservation time, a table-level constraint that not even an application bug can cross, and a unique index against double enrolment. Three independent protections rather than one check on screen.
- 15tables, every one protected row by row
- 40written access rules
- 5days from design to going live
- 0external libraries shipped
The result
The platform has been in service since 13 August 2026. A paid enrolment was carried end to end, from holding the seat to the printable receipt. Three manual payment methods are in place, and the schema already provides for automatic Mobile Money collection: on the day of registration, no migration will be needed.
